A fun-filled day out at Handmade Oxford, The International Contemporary Crafts Festival

Eat, drink, shop exquisite British craft and get involved in craft workshops, demonstrations, and talk programs in the historic setting of Waterperry Gardens

The hugely anticipated festival will be returning on 23-26 June at Waterperry Gardens, allowing visitors to meet over 120 makers throughout the festival whilst shopping and browsing exquisite, contemporary British craft and engaging in a packed program of workshops, live craft demonstrations, and talks programmes.

From Handcrafted jewellery, ceramics and glass to Textiles, Sculptures and Interior Accessories, visitors will be able to find plenty of inspirational ideas for themselves and as gifts.

Helen Chatterton Textiles, one of this year’s exhibitors said, “I’m really looking forward to Handmade in Britain at Waterperry Gardens at the end of June. It’s a stunning location and the highest quality show. A great way to meet existing clients and maker friends and to meet new ones”.

From tempting BBQ treats, Artisan Gin to delicious vegan-friendly dishes, the wide range of artisan food and drinks will ensure there is something for everyone in the family. From boutique craft spirits Artisan Drinks, award-winning organic cheddar from Godminster, tasty plant-based food Greenbox Food Co, refreshing spirits from Highland Boundary, Artisan bakery Hush Hush Chefs, to Scandilicious serving freshest and Scandinavian food. Live music performances from local artists are scheduled throughout the festival

Visitors will be able to find plenty of inspirational ideas with live craft demonstrations hosted by our bespoke artists. Within their craft discipline, they will share their expertise, giving a chance for visitors to get hands-on with them whilst demonstrating in-person techniques such as printmaking. Perfect for families, eco-artist Jen Winnett will have coffee painting demonstration sessions with watercolours and Gemmeus will be showing how to make jewellery throughout the festival.

Visitors will also have a chance to join in and learn something new with our variety of workshops, including woodworking and marbling with Marbling 4 Fun, creating memorable experiences. Families can get creative together in ceramic painting with Emily Dawe of Oh Hello Maker and creating original drawing portraits with Gina Ferrari. Other engaging workshops include, an introductory class in lino cutting, learning how to makefibre from local stinging nettles, and more. Click here to see the full list of learning workshops. With a chance to learn from experts, our engaging talks program includes Craft in Conflict with Dr. Neelam Raina and Ms. Fatima Hussa, who will share their insightful research project on cultural mapping methodology. Helen Keys from Mallon Linen will share the fascinating journey of flax with live demonstrations and Justine Lee from Ossian Knitwear will share insights on diverse sheep breeds.
