There is nothing like visiting a Christmas Market to get you in the mood for Christmas.

Whether you live in Oxfordshire and are looking for new places to visit and experiences or perhaps you are looking to spend Christmas somewhere special this year, Oxfordshire has it sorted. 

Christmas markets

Not only are Christmas markets a great place to shop, but they are also a great way to really get into the festive spirit with music, amazing food and an array of independent businesses selling stunning gifts. The following are just some of the great Christmas markets happening throughout Oxfordshire this year

Soak up the sights, sounds and smells of Christmas at the Waddesdon Manor Christmas Fair, which is open from Wednesday until Sunday, 12 noon until 7.pm until 23rd December. The charming wooden chalets are home to a variety of hand-picked stalls, which are surrounded by twinkling trees against a backdrop of the stunning Waddesdon Manor.

This market features many local artists and designers and is run by Boffy Arts Market, so you can be sure that there will be a great selection of unique Christmas gifts available. The market will take place on the 4th and 5th December in Broad Street, Oxford, which is home to some of the most iconic landmarks in the city.

Every year the city is home to this popular Christmas Market, with choirs, market traders, unusual gifts, and plenty of mulled wine brought together to create a truly magical festive experience. Browse the array of stalls and watch the performances which are spread throughout the heart of the city between 9th and 19th December.

If you are looking for unusual and handmade gifts, the Indie Christmas Market at the White Horse is a great event to add to your festive calendar. With independent stalls, street food and Christmas Cocktails, this event organised by Tap Social on 27th November should not be missed

Whether you are coming along to The story of The Nutcracker inside the Palace or the Illuminated Trail in the great outdoors, your adventure begins at the Christmas Market in the Great Court. It’s free to enter with a pre-booked ticket, wander through the boutique chalets filled with 70 designer/maker craft traders with an assortment of hand-picked, hand-made, irresistible gifts and tempting treats for foodies.

Spread across three venues, all within seconds of each other. The Main Marquee will be in Shucklett’s Paddock in the centre of the village will contain stalls selling high-quality and individual crafts, presents, Christmas decorations, wreaths and food.
Just over the road in the Memorial Hall, you can relax with some tea and cakes, and almost opposite the Hall is the Royal Oak pub which will have more stalls and offering festive food and drink.

The spectacular fair at the front of the house at Waddesdon is a Christmas shopping experience not to be missed.

The fair will be set against the backdrop of the floodlit North Front of the Manor with its 20ft Christmas trees.

Soak up the sights, smells and sounds of Christmas with the hand-selected stalls all housed in charming wooden chalets, surrounded by twinkling trees.
