Americano – Forerunner of the Negroni

The Americano
The forerunner to the Negroni

The Americano is considered the forerunner to the Negroni. Rumour has it that the Americano wasn’t strong enough for Count Negroni who ordered the bartender to make a stronger Americano by adding gin instead of soda water – and the Negroni was born.

The Americano is even simpler to make than the Negroni.

25 ml Sweet Red Vermouth
